Livestock Is Transforming Lives in Tigray

Our Women’s Recovery and Transformation Program, proudly supported by Glimmer of Hope, is creating real change for conflict-affected women across Ethiopia.

Meet Beriha Wegebreal from the Soloda subdistrict of Adwa, Tigray. With determination and hope, Beriha began her poultry business with just 50 chicks—each only 45 days old.

In a remarkably short time, she sold 38 chickens, earning an incredible 43,000 birr. Encouraged by her success, she has now expanded her flock to 70 egg-laying hens, collecting around 65 eggs every day.

Beriha shares deep gratitude to Glimmer of Hope for helping her rebuild her life and livelihood. Her journey is a shining example of how access to opportunity can restore dignity, independence, and hope.
